In My Shoes

Zohra, a Syrian refugee developed her passion for
art in Ecuador where she paints refugee stories one
mural at a time.

I wish to see you

In my shoes

The shoes I chose

Not the one I loathe

In my shoes

With a brush in the cup

Of your hand as a tool

Painting up your lost world

I wish you

In my shoes

Stroking life on easels

Numbing old pain gained

From a brush with Uzis 'n thistles

And there you'll stay

'N my shoes

Should fit like a glove

Made from woven fabric of a vision

To share a piece of

Yourself with the world

In my shoes

To alight on the other side

Of crippling doom

To walk with bold strides

To look above the gloom

And shoot for the moon

In my shoes

To see what I've seen

And be where I've been

And to be free

To say what you mean

And embrace that becoming

And express it phenomenally,

One mural at a time

For all time.
