Destiny's Riddle

Is there something as fickle as luck
Involved in the manipulation of destiny?
Or is fate an overripe fruit waiting to be plucked?
(Not knowing the answer is killing me).

Day 18: Walls of Destiny

I can feel destiny looking over my shoulder;
The influence of karma pushing me off the deck.
My prophecy’s blowing me in alongside the breakers.
The tender wings of my courage are lifting me off the wreck.

I feel I can make it now
As the burden of oracle thrusts my feet off ground.
Haste is speed
And I call forth a whirlwind
As I reach out to perfect the process
And hurl all the properties which I’m obliged to profess

Into the morning of pure daylight.
Lambent strands of light irradiate the face of the skies
In the wake of a billion brilliant stars;
All of God’s children each acting his/her part.

The moon’s soft glow has the undertone of a smile
Even the air gives off mystic waves of an enchanted symphony.
And the film flickering on Destiny’s walls stars me, myself and, I.
So I know why I’m feeling the way I’m feeling.

My cause has chanced a habitat to nestle;
A reason to sign off the wrestle.
And it’s all thanks to the qualities I admired,
On the walls of destiny are printed dreams I sired.

The wait of the calling
Has matured and firmed the roots of the seed.

I have been found
Because I wanted to be found.

Destiny Comes Through

Hope is hopeless;
Mercy is left bleeding in the dust,
Still destiny comes through.

The falcon has deserted the falconer;
The melancholy strain died on the lips of the reaper.
Still destiny comes through.

The wind is ripping off my house of cards.
I go to war to find one reason to be strong,
And stand in the measure of a man.
I’m so blinded by my fears,
Can’t see Providence’ hands sketching a sparrow’s fall.
It’s all too deep for tears
It tumbles off my mind’s walls
Like ricochets in a cave from a ghost’s footfalls.
Here I am about to toss it up.
But ha! Destiny comes through.

Depression crashes in like tidal waves
Cuffing hearts of men, taking modern slaves.
The race would not oblige the swift;
Expectation’s at odds with them that believe.
Still destiny comes through.

The cock will not crow at dawn,
The stars are black diamonds in a field of gray,
Invisible to eyeballs
Of stranded travelers on life’s highway.
But your blues ain’t like mine
And hope flickers, a tiny glint among landmines.
Still destiny comes through.

Hard work gifts the riches of poverty;
Education is a fat bitch
Vast as the desert of eternal vanity.
Perseverance will suck you dry like a leech.
Ignorance is bliss
Where men beg in style and live on their knees.
Strength of valiance
Is a long shot from coming at the call of adversity.
Each day like weighty dark clouds giving a storm warning
Is heavy with the child of uncertainty,
Yet, someway, somehow, destiny comes through.

Thundering walls cut the warmth of the sunshine;
The red sea blurs the skyline;
Meanwhile, opposition take turns picking fights;
On a pair of broken wings and pitched like kites;
As if trying for variety at the worst of times,
Destiny comes through.
