Day 22: How I Choose It

After strife,
Comes the extreme excesses of bitterness,
The metamorphosis of trife.
Hasty lopsided eagerness
To undefined idolized individual dignities.
Men seeking the substance in vanities
Trip over blinding signs of reality.
Why chase after fakes
When you can claim the original with a legal ticket?
It’s like fighting over lakes,
Or blindly trading thickets
For greenwood fir trees,
When you can easily pick a forest or sail the seven seas;
Keeping your head up is not an option.
Actually, it’s the only right decision.
So if I’m gonna make it,
I’m gonna make it how I choose it

Day 22: Her Chapter

While you're having coffee at Starbucks, a strange woman pulls up a chair next to you and says, "You must write my life story," and...

Day 22: Nemesis

Muhammad Ali

I have read and disagree with the terms and conditions.
This lil rat pack obviously, don't dig my notion.
I got eyes only for better things;
A ghetto kid like me
Set this terrestrial ball rolling off its axis
I've been geared up by unceasing practice.
Nurture by its working toughened
The skin of my heart.
By the good by I stand unruffled
When things fall apart.
The world asleep on my shoulder
But deep in the heart of my soul I grow stronger.
You could say I got Divinity's immunity.
Cause the hardness which, promised mortal mutiny
Now lay low at the feet of defeat.
Sometimes, when I lift up my eyes
I can feel it as heaven smiles
Down on the ambitions of an unsigned hype.
My goals are ever before me.
The darkness dims as my purpose starts exploding
In tune with the exotic.
Multiplying is basic,
And the world will yet see me riding adversity's wings
When I tame it by wild superiority and wean it.
That is a promise
As inevitable as nemesis.

Day 22: Soul Odyssey

Photo: guardian.co.uk

For Mali

We run a race of an unmarked finish line
On a track spiked like the back of a porcupine.
Men lacking the capacity for deep feeling conceived the ruthless disease
Holding out the pot of honey only to buzz and sting like bees.
Souls of mankind stranded in a maze.
The only way out is the hard way,
Cause a hint of achievement sparks up a rat race.
As human souls are absorbed by constant warfare
A state of emergency charges up the atmosphere.
It’s easy to get in but a different story getting out.
If anybody’s ever going to survive this stint is still a case in doubt.
Frustration is modus operandi
And all vanities are stretched to the extreme.
These are the times it’s almost logical
That the very core of men’s intent turns diabolical.
The race course runs through the depths of pain.
In this situation, hate seems the natural diagram to paint.
Every milestone covered commands fear to a certain degree,
We have been brought down on bended knee
And pulling it through is like the labors of Hercules.
Existing in this life is a picture perfect painting of the apocalypse.
Is there hope of a point in time a hiatus would emerge?
Cause truth is mortalized and all ethical motive sabotaged.
As a consequence for the suffering comes bitching
To devastate every sense of rationality.
If mortals are indeed architects of their own destiny,
Then right here, right now, we are from the least to the greatest, history.
