Day 14: If I Could

If I could trace the many scars
Etched on my heart like landmarks,
I would tally up half the stars
Which punch the skies with their tiny spark.

If I could hold the stream of tears
In the cup f my hands thro the years,
I would scoop the ocean floor bare
And run it with streams of despair.

If I could relive the memory
Playing on my mind’s walls like a movie,
I would shut down the film industry
And write a couple hundred DVDs.

IntShoWriMo 2014: Day 14

Day 14: Digital Ghosts

Motels are frequently depicted in novels, TV, and film. This week, write a scene that takes place in a motel. Perhaps it's a seedy, roadside fleabag; a clean, well-maintained establishment with a dark history; or simply a familiar setting for a dramatic turning point in your narrative. You can weave it into a short story or use it as a starting point for a new piece. It can be inspired by your own experience or entirely imagined.

Day 14: Soulja

Original Art: ZhiPeng Song (modified by me)

Heroes get remembered
But legends never die.
I have called you legend, soulja
Now I assert theres no reason to deny.
You rode the back trail of the heroes past,
Went a step further and raised the bar.

As reality forges itself into form
It calls forth a nation of soul discipline,
A people of matchless culture
Of an especial variety of novelty.
A race hacked off the phenomenal,
A generation raised by the supernatural.

Among these, you shall not find the wanton
Neither the rash of heart.
A species of individuality, not hard-bitten
But, a man who plays his part.
Their genius flows like a stream
Their creativity like a mighty river.

These are todays hope and dream
Bearing gifts like arrows in a warriors quiver.
Borne on the wings of faith
They soar effortlessly, in grace,
Above every imaginable restraint.
True-born souljas who never break rank

Armed with ambition for armored tank.
In the gathering of the eagles,
An army of souljas who are above all, regal.
As overwhelming as sand on the seashore,
Survivors of the sickest ill turn;
Legends vocalizing with the voice of one.

Day 14: Two-Syllabled Word

Photo: sistersnotdesigners.com

Hello.
You take my hand and to me, it means the entire world.
How many lives have been rearranged by the magic it holds?
A word is all it takes to initialize friendship bonded by affection.
Then you mutter one of the most beautiful things human lips can articulate
And for all my struggles and pain this solitary word will commensurate.
It comes on a breath of fresh air; by special delivery.

Hello.
And a gush of pleasant imagery fills my mind before it busts the periphery.
As I whisper it to you, the light in your eyes really glows.
Together, we visualize the enactment of an association that will prevail,
It falls soft as a plume and disintegrates the ice with the stroke of a hammer.
There is a renewal of conviction and a promise of better days,
Everything in nature dances; beauty bursts forth in uncanny aura.

Hello.
The gift of a warm blanket when men are ravaged by cold.
How the dulcet sound flows with grace up a lung inspired by love,
Two syllables, five letters, one word.
We can make it do what it do when we collide;
When two soul forces combine to create a mutual resource.
And when feelings click, we can create in the North Pole our own summertime.

Hello.
Such a simple, silly word you may think it to be
Yet, it conveys all the warmth and delight of home.
I dare not speak it when you ain’t present or it may be but vanity.
Here’s the one which brings the meaning to 1,000 more.
You prick up my ears and get my consciousness hyped up
When you intrude my personal space at the mention of that special word.

Hello;
Can I share your pain? It seems to say.
Can I travel with you down the long and winding road?
Let me hold your hand and point the way.
Hello.
Will you be my guide when the darkness comes out to play?
When the world leaves, will you stray?
