Today’s Prompt:
You and your three closest friends decide to go camping. You arrive and set up camp nearly three miles away from where you left your car. Late that evening, as you sit around the campfire roasting marshmallows, one of your friends reveals a deep dark secret that turns what was to be a fun weekend into one of the scariest weekends of your life.

Who’s scared of a creature as innocuous as a housefly?
Not me. Probably not you as well. Perhaps, the people in this story would have said the same thing if someone put that question to them before the story reached a climax.

The character Inyang, and a fine storyteller he is if I do say so, turns an evening of fun into a life-threatening situation when he narrates a cabin in the woods story about killer-houseflies.

To reiterate my stand, I’ve never known a fly to scare up a storm. I don’t know, you might see the need to have your mental repertoire rearranged under a sickle moon that gives off a sick orange glow. Maybe, if you look at things from a different angle, a fly might be a harbinger of evil tidings and a guardian of ancient landmarks.
