On an ongoing forgery

And they set a killer cop

On a black man named Floyd

Fastest way to get a life destroyed.

Ex-cop Chauvin pressed his knee

Down on Floyd's neck,

'I can't breathe,'

Floyd said.

'I asked you to get in the car.'

'Please stop, I'll get in the car.'

'No you won't,

'You didn't when I asked you to.'

Chauvin kept up like oh well

Until Floyd emptied his bowels.

But justice rolled down like water

Thru a blackgirl named Darnella,

She filmed the killing,

And Chauvin was charged with murder.

The tape was key to the convicting.

Now we can breathe again

Cause we have reason to say,

This case is unanimously

Closed with discipline.

Had been,

'Man dies after medical incident.'

A damning verdict without precedent.

Yet a high school girl captured the footage

Even tho it took 330 days

For the system to acknowledge

A fact that was general knowledge.

Darnella Frazier stood firm

Pulled her phone and hit record.

She captured Chauvin, knee slammed

Into Floyd's neck crushing for all

Of 9 minutes 29 seconds

Even after Chauvin pulled his gun,

Pointed in her general direction,

She didn't cut and run

That was sheer guts on steroids.

Off to present racial injustice

For the whole world to see.

Her recording was key

To bringing justice for George Floyd,

To changing the POV of the world,

And to sealing Chauvin's murder conviction

Of two counts of 2nd degree murder

And one count of manslaughter.

Chauvin is behind bars.
