Some Age Old Cures

I might have found the cure for the Ebola Virus. With the surge of freakish and lethal infections and diseases in our society, (I read somewhere online where an health official made speculations that if Ebola, the killer virus and the trending health condition of the moment, ever became airborne a little over a million people of the earth would catch an early ride to meet their maker.) we need… we deserve some sort of respite.

Fortunately for yous, I have in my private collection, the 2009 edition of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! And the volume has got news for the weary, disease-plagued universe we live in today. So, I did uncover a really helpful list of age old cures that might (or might not) be the cure for the Ebola virus, believe it or not.

Though, I’m not one to shove my opinion down people’s throat but if you asked me, I’d say since some of the maladies listed in images 1, 2, 3, 4 & 6 are peculiar to ones found in patients down with Ebola, a combination medication of one or two of those will probably, result in some miracle cure. (Please, make no reference to this post if it does work! I know it will.)

IntShoWriMo 2013: DAY 6

Courtesy: punchng.com

Today’s Prompt:
Take two people who dislike each other and stick them in the backseat of a cab. What happens?

Link for Day 6: DAY 6: Icebox Word Count: 2,206

An artist and an advocate, next-door-neighbors cum sworn enemies, are constrained by a sudden cloudburst to take refuge in the backseat of the same cab. They’re barely aware of each other until they’re both seated and try to say Hi. The mismatched company is like the weather in The Odyssey. It’s only a matter of time before the cab is transformed into an icebox.

The question which stayed on my mind through the crafting of this story was, is this going to come out as the funnies or is it going to end up being a Tai fu/taekwondo treat? The cabbie really adds the twist to the story. He, it was who got me decided and takes the helm in steering the plot through the fun part.

Fasten your seat belts, you are about to take a ride on the mobile court of law.

Glass Ceiling

I count the varied blessings
Dealt out through the lessons,
I subtract the pain
To perceive the drama lessens.
The gutter runs riot of rustics
And phonies spread us dry like raisins.
They claim we transgressing
But the tragedy’s there ain’t no one addressing
The hell we all living
Through. We thriving and we weeded
Time to heal and we all illin’
Time to eat and no one’s feeding.
Young ones are screaming
And nobody’s heeding.
They’re hurt and they’re bleeding,
Open sores and injuries
All over their bodies.
On bended knees, we’re praying
But our situation’s dramatic irony.
Our rejoicing is elegy
Picture us in the ministry of poverty.
But sincerely,
None of us is tripping.
My courage will build up my entity,
Create a paradise in this Hades’ territory.
Like an inner mystery
Evolving independently
To breathe a new reality
Into a personal niche.
I’ll find ways to put my talent to use eternally.
I’m doing it mentally,
If you can’t picture me, physically.
Until I bring change to the community,
Paste eternity up in the range of society.
As an agent of ingenuity,
Preacher of individuality,
Victim of animosity,
Subject of controversy,
And a staunch disciple of originality.
Always sought an opportunity to be me
Now that I have the prerogative,
I’m through procrastinating,
I’m done with all this hating,
I’m busting through the glass ceiling.
